Watersports

Kite & Windsurfing

In association with H20 Extreme, our waterspouts centre offers both Kite and Windsurfing lessons and equipment rental. H20’s IKO certified instructors are on hand to offer courses for beginners, or simply to assist you in choosing your rental gear. The conditions in Diani are ideal with two major winds providing good surf. The Kaskazi blows onshore from the North and is commonly known as the Baridi (Cold) in Kiswahili, which blows steadily from around mid December through to the end of February, blowing between 15 and 25 knots. The Kuzi – the second less strong of the trade winds – blows onshore from the South and is also known as the Monsoon and reaches a range of 10 to 22 knots. The advantage this wind has for more experienced riders is the aggressive down the line wave riding to be done on the reef.

Deep Sea Fishing

We offer Deep Sea Fishing excursions aboard Princess Layla our Private 31ft Fishing Boat. Our experienced crew of 3 will be on hand to assist you whatever your level. Our boat is fully equipped to catch Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna & Giant Travali. Princess Layla is also available for Dolphin spotting and sand island trips.

Scuba Diving

In association with Diani Marine (fully PADI certified) we offer a range of diving options. Pool trials & DSD’s (Discover Scuba Diving) can be organised if you’re looking to just sample the underwater world. Bespoke Open Water & Advanced courses are available from the comfort of your villa and can be completed at a your leisure with timing suited to your needs. With over 25 world class dive sites, including the Kisite National Marine Reserve, you are guaranteed to see a spectacle of stunning coral reefs and an enormous marine population. 2-4 dive half and full day trips can be arranged.

Snorkelling & SUP

If you fancy a spot of snorkelling, just grab the gear from our surf school and head on out to the reef which is around half a kilometre off shore. If the swim seems a little much, jump on board Almanara’s “Ngalawa” (the locals hand crafted sailing boat) and head out to the sand islands that pop out of the turquoise waters at low tide. This trip is truly awe inspiring as you sail over the coral reefs before arriving at the stunning sand island where you can look at back at the whole of Diani beach from the reef. Stand Up Paddle boarding is also available. Grab the board and head out at low tide where dolphin and turtle spotting are commonplace
